Executive Function Coaching

Executive function is a set of mental skills—including organization, time management, planning, and self-control—that help students succeed both in and out of school. Our Executive Function Coaching at KVD Education is all about supporting students who struggle with these skills. We meet each student where they are and provide compassionate, one-on-one guidance to help them get organized, stay on top of tasks, and build confidence. With our coaching, students develop tools and strategies for managing schoolwork, reducing stress, and gaining independence—skills that last a lifetime.

Does Your Student Need Executive Function Coaching?

Executive function coaching is great for students who have trouble with organization, time management, or getting started on tasks. Your student might benefit if they:

• Frequently lose track of assignments or due dates
• Feel overwhelmed by big projects
• Struggle with routines or remembering steps
• Procrastinate or have trouble staying focused
• Feel anxious or stressed about keeping up with schoolwork
• Want more confidence and independence in tackling challenges

Many students (and even adults!) can benefit from strengthening these skills—no diagnosis needed. If any of these sound familiar, EF coaching could make a real difference.

What an EF Coaching Session Looks Like

In our one-on-one executive function coaching sessions, we start by getting to know the student’s unique strengths and challenges.

Sessions are friendly, supportive, and totally customized. A session might look like checking in and planning homework and studying sessions for the upcoming weeks. It might also look like strategizing task initiation and motivation techniques. Or it might look like taking a project that's due and breaking it apart and scheduling tasks.

We can help with organizing assignments, planning out projects, breaking down big tasks, creating routines, and tackling procrastination. Students and coaches work together on real-life school challenges and practice strategies that fit into their daily routine. Each session is a safe space to build skills and confidence—step by step.

All sessions involve educating on strategies that have been proven to work and working on the current circumstances.

What Makes KVD Unique?

At KVD Education, our coaching is all about compassion and personalization. Valorie has 20+ years of teaching and working with neurodivergent students in high school. We believe ADHD is a super power and that executive function tasks can be taught. Which means our goal is to work ourselves out of a job.

In addition, we offer sessions in an a la carte style which means that you can get exactly what you need. Most students start with an hour per week and work their way down to a 20 or 30 minute session every other week.
